THE END IS NIGH

That is to say, I have nearly finished Face Value and it will SOON have a date for when it will be available on Amazon…

I thought now would be a good time to tell you how this story came about…

During a module on the MA Professional Writing at Falmouth University, I had to write the first 4000 words of a potential novel.

Bit by bit elements of a story came together to become Face Value. The title manifested itself early on…

‘Face Value’ refers to the expression where something appears to be more, or less, than its real worth…

This applies to Neville’s complex around his own worth, and what is bubbling away beneath the surface of this repressed individual…

Face Value is also a pun that relates to the devilish mask that Neville encounters which manifests something dark within…

Along the way I came across a powerful quote that resonated with me and related to Face Value:

“Someone once told me the definition of hell; on your last day on earth, the person you could have become will meet the person you became.”

Possession, duality, the dichotomy of good and evil…

These are a few of my favourite themes

...which have always fascinated me, so you will see this throughout my work as I aim to disturb myself and others even further.
